Our client is a well established & respected, nationally recognized philanthropic team fighting for animal rights.

The Public Relations Manager will be expected to add to value day one of employment.  All candidates need to have proven experience in generating PR based awareness campaigns for similar, related fields. Candidates are required to have existing, established contacts with decision markers, Editors and similar roles with in leading media vehicles.

The position is responsible for planning and implementing a dynamic public relations effort to generate media coverage of our client, their programs, and specifically animal anti-cruelty issues. This role will work in a well resourced yet still a fundamentally focused, hands-on office. Other responsibilities include the creation of general communications pieces, web site development/management along with SEO & SEM experience, and other responsibilities that will from time to time be assigned by the President of the organization, to whom the position reports and with whom it works closely.

Candidates need to be passionate about animal rights and have similar past advocacy experience to their credit. Candidates are required to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience in public relations or NFP communications, and a demonstrated ability to build solid media relationships and plan/implement successful public relations campaigns. Exceptional writing, editing and speaking/presentation skills and ability to multitask and work on deadlines are a must.  The chosen candidate must possess an ability to handle controversial subject matter with poise and remain cool under pressure as The Spokesperson for the organization. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated ability to think strategically, tactically, and creatively; is a proactive self-starter with strong individual initiative who is also willing and able to take direction; is highly self-motivated and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
