Vice President of Marketing/Communication Healthcare – Boston
All candidates are required to have experience in Health Care related marketing communications program building, development, execution and measurement.
The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic vision, positioning, global branding strategy, and marketing direction for our client and their initiatives. Working with the Executive and Strategy Teams, the Vice President of Marketing/Communication will manage internal and external communications, and establish an cient-wide marketing strategy and operational plan to build awareness of the organization among key audiences and meet our annual enrollment and revenue targets. The VP of Marketing/Communication leads the communication, marketing, and web teams, and reports to the Senior Vice President.
Position Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategies:
- Defines the marketing vision and manages the design, development, and implementation of marketing plans consistent with the organization’s long-range strategic goals and objectives
- Works with organizational stakeholders including the Business Development Team, Portfolio Leaders, Strategy Group, and other functional areas to create strategies, tactics, activities, and materials that convey key program and “solution” offerings to target markets while ensuring a cohesive marketing strategy across the organization
- Coordinates all marketing, communication, advertising and promotions to present a coherent image of the organization
- Optimizes cross-selling opportunities to ensure that all programs are effectively marketed across all our clients programs
- Evaluates the effectiveness of current marketing programs and initiatives, and seeks to continuously improve methods and outcomes
Market Intelligence:
- Provides market intelligence and keeps management abreast of changes in environment and marketing strategies
- Maintains familiarity with and constantly evaluates competition’s products, prices, strategies, etc.
- Analyzes market trends, recommends organization and product/service positioning and identifies potential partners
- Identifies market opportunities and utilizes research to determine feasibility
- Proactively monitors business performance, analyzes and reports trends while recommending and implementing adjustments to business direction and strategy
Messaging and Communications:
- Leads and manages branding, graphic communications, web-based presence, e-media, and new media strategies
- Establishes global messaging and style guidelines
- Builds and maintains a consistent corporate image through marketing communications
- Creates positioning briefs, talking points, and overall messaging for our clients programs
- Conducts internal communications to ensure that all staff members are aware of marketing programs and their role in helping to optimize results
- Provides the vision for our clients web presence, oversees design, and develops, executes, and monitors a strategy to drive web traffic and build vibrant on-line communication and communities
- Oversees the user interface design so that the search function and the information and knowledge returned are set up on the client's site in a way that is easy to navigate and understand
- Understands and enhances the websites relative popularity in the healthcare knowledge space
Customer Strategies:
- Continuously monitors market needs and customer acceptance through direct contact, attendance at key meetings, and conducting market research
- Develops new markets, and expands existing markets
- Assists with the development and management of new client relationships
- Generates leads and indentifies areas for growth
- Sells new concepts and project ideas to clients
- Understands customer needs and ensures marketing messaging response to these
Marketing and Communications Team Management:
- Builds camaraderie and effectiveness across the marketing/communications and web teams
- Ensures team satisfaction, motivation, success, and individual staff development
- Helps build a team that consistently and constantly delivers excellence and celebrates successes
- Develops and manages the marketing operating budget
- Manages the marketing team towards data-driven ROI strategies

Position Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 10 years experience in a marketing leadership role;
- Requires demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic marketing and communication plans, including national and international program and/or product launches, and with new program strategies and execution
- Requires demonstrated experience building, developing, and managing a comprehensive marketing team
- Experience or knowledge of healthcare is required and essential
- Strong evidence of advanced writing, copy editing, and proofing required
- Must have a passion for our client's mission within Health Care and mission-driven approach
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree strongly preferred, with concentration in Communications, Marketing, or Management
