OVERVIEW:

The ideal candidate should have a proven background in e-Business including 6+ years of leadership in defining and driving implementation of on-site and on-page search function improvement and should also have a strong working knowledge of current search technologies and search architecture best practices.

Candidates should have the ability to continuously evolve the company’s Enterprise Search capabilities is critical as the company delivers the next generation of web-based platforms. In addition, the successful candidate must be capable of guiding business and technology teams as well as consultants across projects that interact with the web and mobile e-Business applications. A business orientation in addition to strong IT understanding is critical as the candidate’s focus will be on defining Search user requirements, and not on the technical elements of implementation. The successful candidate must be capable of interacting with internal business partners of multiple levels. 

DAY-TO-DAYS:

Owner of the e-Business on-site and on-page Enterprise Search strategy with the ultimate responsibility to leverage and implement best in class site search technology to translate Business strategy into a robust web experience. This position is responsible to ensure that search strategy and functionality are optimized for our client’s e-Business needs.  Works with IT and other functions to identify and overcome barriers to this objective. Serves as internal search expert to ensure best practices are shared and leveraged by all groups.  Plays a leadership role in driving alignment between Business Units, and Corporate Functions on e-Business projects. Facilitate the website Incident Management and Problem Management processes. Perform root cause analysis, resolution and reporting in collaboration with IT colleagues. Anticipate and leverage opportunities to use search technology within future web trends like mobile applications, with the ultimate goal of being as intimate as possible with our end customers and the community.

ABOUT YOU:

A minimum of 7 years professional experience and at least two years of managerial experience leading e-Business project teams focused on implementing Enterprise Search functionality improvements.  A strong business orientation is required. Extensive knowledge and experience working with with Endeca, FAST, FACT-Finder, Autonomy, Attivio, Omnifind, Lucene, Solr, and/OR Vivisimo. Significant experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale eBusiness Programs and/OR Projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors; ability to analyze Program needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives. Strong relationship management at all levels ranging from executives to staff exercising teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment  Leadership and ability to influence technical staff and joint IT/business teams to meet goals. Candidates need a demonstrated experience in working successfully in large, complex, aggressive organizations, balancing multiple assignments and deliverables simultaneously.
