Experience working for an online retailer (Amazon, Wal-Mart, etc.) or mobile phone company (Apple, Nokia, etc.) in a similar role.

DAY-TO-DAY:

This position will be the subject matter expert and technical Lead for domain areas of search engine optimization (SEO) for their online retail site. This person will be expected to innovate and deliver new features that would include advising business and IT teams on how to implement SEO-friendly features. This person will be a technical lead for significant projects for our client’s online store while working with the business partners to identify solutions, contribute to overall design, proof of concept development, technical strategy, coordinate with external teams and vendors, and mentor junior developers.
The SEO Optimization Lead will advise business and IT teams on how implement features in a SEO-friendly capacity and help innovate the site to increase market leverage of natural search rankings.  They will design and develop new functionality for the website that is reliable, maintainable, and scalable.  This position will actively participate in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle including define, design, development, test, deployment, and support and maintenance of the website. They will create technical specification documents for new functionality and ensure that new solutions integrate seamlessly with existing technologies.

ABOUT YOU:
Candidates should have 3-5+ years’ experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as it relates to retail website development; at least 2 years experience at the tech lead level.

Additional requirements are 2-3 years’ experience working for either an online retailer (Amazon, Wal-Mart, etc.) or mobile phone company (Apple, Nokia, etc.) in a similar (or less senior) role.
·    Experience in Java / JEE based web development
·    Experience in a major RDBMS (DB2 preferred)

·    Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
·    Previous experience in consulting
·    IBM Web Sphere ecommerce experience a plus
·    Experience with Agile SDLC, Scrum in particular
·    SOA experience
·    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·    Excellent analytical abilities and a strong intellectual curiosity
·    Customer service oriented
