OVERVIEW:

We are working on a unique senior lead Digital Editor Global Content search for a known, respected firm in the business information sector.  Our client has done a fantastic job at transitioning most all their products and information sources into digital form.  Their Blogs and social sites are not only leading edge, trendy & smart business information sources they are key channels for ecommerce development. They are now a leader in their space with many competitors beginning to emerge in the marketplace and follow their trail.

Our Client’s off-the-chart awareness growth in digital channels has led to the creation of a new Digital Editor for Global Content position.  We are searching for someone with experience simlar to a leader in Online & Social Media’s, attached (passionate) to the business world and can actively impact global content for a well resourced site. Their business content is viewed and Authors are translated into every major global economy in the world. This person should be known, or beginning to develop a name for themselves, in the Business Information Editorial community as a leader in digital content and have an audience of Followers as well. The client is located in the Boston area and would obviously help with relocation for this right candidate. Otherwise the candidate can work out of home from a NYC location.

DAY-TO-DAYS

Lead a variety of new and existing digital content initiatives, working in collaboration with other Editors as well as design, commercial, and technical colleagues. Identify and sign up new contributors with original, influential ideas. Help guide opinion leaders and shape their ideas to be effectively understood and widely shared on the web and other digital platforms.

The Editor needs to be obsessed over metrics and user experience. They need to ask good questions and construct experiments to test hypotheses about how our Client might better meet audience needs and increase engagement. Develop content in forms that make it immediately useful to the reader, including all visual, data and similar tools. This position will also manage editorial involvement in product launches and redesign projects. Work with other editors and the production team to ensure smooth editorial operations.

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful in this position, you must be curious, flexible, and data-driven, and you must love the web. Candidates require a wide-range of creative intellect and sharp editorial judgment.  They need to have an up-to-date understanding of digital trends and metrics.

Excellent Author acquisition and relationship management skills are a must have asset along with the fast ability to spot, quickly shape, and reliably line-edit a good story.  Candidates require a solid technical grounding – understanding of content management systems, experience with web redesigns, etc.

Strong leadership skills are a must have as this person will lead a Team of 3-5 other Editors. At least 8 years’ experience in digital media, this candidate must be an accomplished, web Editorial guru, is a given.

BA, MBA preferred, or equivalent.
